     "...with [safety] considerations in mind, two of the most ferocious combatants were moced from competition, even though they didn't violate the rules. The Mulcher had and upturned lawn-mower blade that spat fragments of opponents into the air. In the early rounds Blendo, a spinning dome-shaped robot of heavy steel, launched pieces of its competitors right over the Plexiglas shield.

     "We set out to build the most destructive thing we could come up with," said Jamie Hyneman, head of the team of movie model builders who entered Blendo. "We feel very proud of this machine."

     (...) "People say this is one of the most exciting, thrilling things they've evern been to. For me, Robot Wars was the best event I've ever been to in my life."
